Sprang is a little-known form of plaiting to produce net-like cloth.

I made my first sprang on a fairly large scale, using white cabled cotton yarn and rigging up a frame with two chairs and two sticks. [sprang on the loom from the side]
[sprang bag, empty] When finished, I had produced this loose, rectangular bag. I'm not really sure what to use it for
I think it looks nicest when used to hold apples, like so. [sprang bag, full of apples]

Head over and check out the spinning or the woven work.
