Mote Marine Lab's webpage is at http://www.mote.org. It's a great site, and should have everything you might want to know about them. If not, they can be reached by phone by calling (941)388-4441 to talk to a real live receptionist.

We'll be going to Mote for four different things: the Whale & Dolphin hospital volunteer class; to see Dr. Bauer's visual and tactile acuity project with manatees Hugh & Buffett and the awesome husbandry training done with it as well; to leave for the boat trip on the bay; and for the Red Tide & Education program.

Mote also has a library, which we have access to. I know it's open to the public for short periods of time, and we'll all be Mote volunteers after the strandings class, but ask someone more knowledgable (Dr. Bauer or someone at Mote) for more information about the library.

Mote Marine Aquarium is also a nice place just to spend time, and volunteers get in free. If you haven't actually been in the aquarium, check it out some time.
