Untitled 4/29/97
There are nights when my desire is the look in your eyes
that all empathy aside I would have my way
and take all I could hold; it would never fill me
moonlight through the cracks, teardrops taken from the sea
(If I never knew what color your eyes were I would be
as blind as the child on the beach, footsteps certain;
water all around (Mirrorshades V1.2))
You don't know how much I want it, boy, you never will
because it's just your fault, word and dream -
like chaos swirls in four dimensions; lost
and it wouldn't be pretty, how I'd take hold
you know it's not pleasure I'm after
I want something besides truth and pain
There are nights when my desire is your touch on the machine
Not the gentle way you hold me, but the blind adrenaline high
But even that's not quite enough, it's so far
beyond a simple mirror when I look into your eyes -
this many worlds away.
