I want to haunt thy body like the wind
Since I am left like morning, draped in dew
Curling like a vine up arm down thigh
Every tendril clinging tight to you.

That we might learn each other end to end
Thou as a mountain, I as melting snow
Thou as the star s! and so a vaster sky
I'd need to be than any that I know.

Then down into thy valleys I would mend -
And like deer graze and never know my fill
but to think that I might even try!
Given all God's time I never will.

For though new seeking tendrils, lips I send
To plumb thy wonders, scale ev'ry peak!
Still you familiar like my forest in moonlight
Always becoming something new, and sweet....
